  2. Here it is at long last!  The much awaited Beavis and Butthead patch for DOOM!

  4. Now you can -
  5.  
  6.   * Slice up Beavis as he calls you 'asswipe'
  7.   * Slice up Butthead as he shouts out 'that sucks'
  8.   * Listen to Beavis and Butthead cough/yell when they die
  9.   * Hear Beavis and Butthead call out profanities when they see you
  10.   * Watch Beavis and Butthead fight! (my favorite)

  12. While using this patch (or any kind of patch for doom) I recommend that the
  13. doom.wad file gets backed up.  It will crunch down to about 4.5 megabytes
  14. pkzip'ed.  I know that might be a hassle, but better safe than sorry.  This 
  15. patch is virus free (as cirtified by f-prot 2.09 and the Norton AntiVirus
  16. programs), but I claim no responsibilty for OperatorError (tm).  While testing
  17. out this patch I have installed and uninstalled it about a dozen times and I 
  18. have had no problems.  This patch uses dmaud (doom sound editor/extractor) and
  19. dmgraph (doom picture editor/extractor) to backup the original sounds and
  20. animation sequences and then it replaces the pink/invisible demon and the imp
  21. (brown guy) with Beavis and Butthead.  When the patch is uninstalled, the 
  22. original sounds and pictures are restored to the doom.wad resource file.

  24. This is NOT for the unregestered version of doom.  I do not know what would
  25. happen if you try to install this patch on the unregestered patch of doom,
  26. nor do I recomend it.  ID software would not like you if you try it either :)

  28. This patch represents about 9 hours of fun (but sometimes MiNdBoGgLiNg) work.

  30. The idea first came from bdoom (Bill Neisius's barney doom patch).  I did a
  31. cheep Butthead prototype and was then inspiried to do a full patch.  In the
  32. near future I might scan in some Beavis and Butthead stuff and work on another
  33. (and hopefully better) Beavis and Butthead patch.

  39. lists, editors and effort!  Without the effort, pictures, lists and editors
  40. from these two guys this patch would not exist.  Thanks Bill and Michael!
